Club Intl — the collaboration of John Eatherly (Be Your Own Pet, Public Access TV) and producer Johnny Jewel (Chromatics, Glass Candy) — have released their latest track “Ride” with an accompanying kaleidoscopic video. Likely drawing inspiration from the 2011 film of a similar context and shrouded in red and blue light, we see Eatherly and guest vocalist Desire interspersed between shots of 80s style cars and the view through the windshield. The video is the perfect counterpart to the cascading synths and whirring atmosphere of the track.
“Ride” is the first new release from Club Intl after the project took a break to focus on the reinventing what the live show could be. Eatherly shared, “As NYC slowly opened up, we began to play live for the first time. Bored of the same old recipe of stale ticketed venues, we began seeking out untraditional spots to perform at…setting up on the floor etc…It was clear that the audience, and myself, were hungry for something different and more exciting from a live event. After harnessing this energy from our shows, I knew the record wasn’t complete. It lacked a certain energy that can only be felt from feeling one with the crowd… so I went back to the drawing board.”
